These courses are designed to ground the student in the doctrines of the faith and the ultimate goal is to see these doctrines integrated into the life of the student. The required courses cover all the standard areas of theology. These courses aim to present the Biblical framework of each doctrine, and its development and clarification.

ST101 Theology I 4 units

This course is a two-part study of Bibliology and Theology Proper.  Bibliology will focus on the origin, nature and significance of the bible in the plan and program of God.  Theology Proper is an in-depth study of the glorious person and work of the Triune God as He has revealed Himself in His creation, His son and His Word.

ST102 Theology II 4 units

The first part of this course covers the doctrine of Christ (Christology).  This includes a detailed study of His person and work including His pre-existence, deity, and incarnation.  The second half of the course is an examination of the effects and application of the work of Christ with an emphasis upon the atonement (Soteriology A).

ST103 Theology III 4 units

The first part of this course is an examination of the effects and application of the work of Christ with an emphasis upon the atonement (Soteriology B).  The secod part will cover the Holy Spirit and His divine work at justificatin and His role in the believer's life called sanctification. (Pneumatology)

ST104 Theology IV 4 units

The first part of this course will examine the origin, nature, organization and destiny of the church.  Special emphasis is given to its officers and ordinances (Ecclesiology).  The second half of the course will be an introduction to what the Bible teaches about future events.  The student will become familiarized with points of agreement and disagreement regarding the second coming of Christ, the millennium, the final judgment, the new heavens and new earth, and additional areas of study.  An emphasis will be given to the practical and ethical implications of future events (Eschatology).

ST105 Historical Theology 4 units

This course is designed to provide the student with a basic introduction to the history of the Christian church from its founding at Pentecost through the Protestant Reformation.  It includes both an historical and theological study of the origins and development of Christian theology.  Students are encouraged to evaluate the positive contributions of key historical figures and to apply those contributions to their own lives and ministries.

ST 106 Biblical Theology 4 units

This course is designed as an introduction tothe discipline of Biblical Theology.  It will enable the student to grasp the unity of the bible, its central message from Genesis to Revelation and how understanding the Bible plot-line contributes to understanding the meaning of any one book or passage.  Some attention is given to its history, definition, methods, and challenges.  This course will help Sunday School teachers, Youth ministers and all students of the Bible understand how the Bible fits together as the story of God's plan for salvation.

ST300 Personal Doctrinal Statement 2 units

During the final quarter of the student's program, a comprehensive personal doctrinal statement will be developed which states and defends from Scripture the student's own understanding of each of the essential doctrines of the Christian faith.

ST301 Apologetics 2 units

A general introduction to the defense of the Biblical system of truth. This course is designed to help develop an appreciation of the place of evidences in leading others to Christ, to study the many approaches to apologetics, and to strengthen knowledge and practical arguments for the Christian faith. This course is designed to be a practical and stimulating course to help the student be prepared "to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that is in you."

ST401 Revival & The Power of The Spirit 2 units

This course looks at the concept of revival from both Scripture and church History. It also examines the rise of the modern phenomenon of “direct revelation.” The marks of a revived church will be considered with an emphasis on the place of preaching, worship, holiness and the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
